Hospo Pulse

Corrections, Suppression & Takedown Policy

Last updated: 22 July 2026

1. What this policy is for

Hospo Pulse republishes information from public government liquor-licensing registers so that people who need to know about new licence activity — for licensing due diligence, to exercise objection or notice rights, and to follow market activity — can see it in one place, promptly.

Some of that register information names individuals. This policy explains how you can ask us to correct, suppress or remove information about you, how quickly we respond, and how we decide. It reflects our view that publishing an accurate, faithful copy of a public register serves the same public purpose the register itself serves — and that keeping it accurate, and responding quickly when someone is affected, is part of doing that responsibly.

2. How we already limit what we publish about individuals

Before you need to ask us for anything, these are the standing limits we apply to register data about individuals:

  • We publish a faithful copy of the official register, not our own characterisation. Where an applicant or licensee is an individual, we show the factual fields recorded on the register (such as trading/venue name, address, licence type, status, key dates and application reference), with a link to the source record and the date we captured it. We do not attach an automated "significance score" or an AI-generated summary to information about a named individual.
  • We exclude personal contact details. We do not republish individuals' personal phone numbers or personal email addresses, even where a government register exposes them.
  • We date-stamp and link to the source. Every entry shows when we captured it and links to the official register, which is always the authoritative, current record.

3. What you can ask us to do

If you are named in register data we republish, you can ask us — free of charge — to correct an entry that is inaccurate or out of date; suppress an entry, so it no longer appears in our emails or on our Site (while remaining on the official government register); or remove an entry entirely from our systems. You do not need to give a reason, though telling us the problem helps us act faster.

4. How to make a request

Email support@au-abcs.com with: the name or venue as it appears in our alert or on our Site; a link to the alert, email or page if you have one (or the approximate date you saw it); and what you would like us to do (correct, suppress or remove), and any correction details. You are welcome to make a request on behalf of someone else if you are authorised to do so.

5. Our response times

  • We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days.
  • For a straightforward correction or suppression, we aim to action it promptly after we acknowledge it.
  • If a request needs more assessment (see section 6), we will tell you and keep you updated.
  • Personal-safety concerns are prioritised. If your request tells us that publication puts you at risk of harm (for example, family or domestic violence, or another safety situation), tell us that in your email and we will treat it as urgent and, where appropriate, suppress the entry immediately while we assess it.

6. How we decide

Most requests — corrections, and suppression or removal where there is a personal-safety concern or a clear inaccuracy — we simply action.

Where a request asks us to remove accurate information that is on the public register, we consider it case by case, weighing: how current and significant the information is; the public-transparency and objection/notice purpose the register exists to serve; your circumstances, including any safety, vulnerability or hardship you raise; and whether suppression from our Service (rather than removal) adequately addresses the concern.

We will explain our decision. If we do not fully agree to a request, we will tell you why and how to escalate, and remind you that you can also raise the matter with the relevant licensing authority and, for privacy concerns, with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

7. What suppression and removal do — and don't — do

Suppressing or removing an entry from Hospo Pulse changes only our Service. It does not change, correct or remove anything on the official government register. If you also want the underlying register changed, you will need to contact the relevant state or territory licensing authority directly; we can point you to the right one.

8. No cost, no disadvantage

Making a request under this policy is free, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
